Bed Assembly Instructions

1.   There are four 3 ½” diameter side rail logs.  There are letters on the ends of them with a line next to the letter. Match the letters on the ends of the side rails to the letters on the headboard and footboard.  The lines on the side rails next to the letter should align with the lines on the headboard and footboard posts.  Connect the side rails to the headboard and to the footboard with the lag bolts and washers.  Be careful to not over tighten the bolts.

2.    With the side rails tightened attach the two longer side angle iron sections to the hanger bolts already inserted in the sides of the bed posts with the enclosed nuts, lock washers and washers.  The side of the angle iron marked “Head” goes on the headboard and “Foot” on footboard.

3.     Attach the support angle iron - with the support footing attached - to the two side angle irons with the two 3/8 x 1” bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts.  For king size beds there is an additional support angle iron; attach these two support angle iron assemblies one third and two thirds the way between the footboard and headboard.

4.    Insert the two 2x4 studs (three 2x4 studs for king beds) between the side angle iron pieces. The studs will be labeled.  The one that is labeled Top goes closest to the Headboard. The 2x4 studs will sit loosely on the angle iron.  If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call us at 800-817-1275.

5.    Now that the bed is assembled you can place the box spring and mattress on it.  Please note if you are not using a box spring, a bunk board or a piece of plywood the size of the mattress is needed.

Bunk Bed Assembly Instructions

  1. For twin-on-twin and full-on-full bunk beds please reference the instructions for regular beds.  Follow the instructions for the top bunk but don’t tighten the lag bolts and don’t attach the angle irons yet.  Next repeat the instructions for the lower bunk.  When all the side rails are in place then tighten all the lag bolts.  Then put the angle irons in place and attach them per the instructions.  The upper support angle iron won’t have a support footing attached.

  1. With twin-on-full bunk beds assemble the top bunk per the instructions for regular beds but don’t tighten the lag bolts and don’t attach the angle irons yet.  Next assemble the side rails on the side of the bed that doesn’t have the extensions.  Next attach the short extension rails to the head board and footboard (see below).  Be sure to align the appropriate letters and lines of the extension rails with the letters and lines of the bed posts and short posts.  Next attach the remaining side rails to the short posts.  Once all the side and extension rails are in place tighten all the lag bolts.   Then put the angle irons in place and attach them per the instructions for regular beds.  The upper support angle iron won’t have a support footing attached.  If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call us at 800-817-1275.
